This project examines the impact of increased textile production on water security and equity in Karachi, Pakistan. Using an agent-based model (ABM), the study simulates interactions among the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC), households, industrial users, and private water vendors. The model integrates data from household surveys and interviews of textile factories to explore seasonal water dynamics, consumption patterns, and the effects of water theft and adaptation. This research aims to provide insights into the distributional impacts of economic policies and future scenarios, such as climate change, to inform environmentally just water policies.
